Well I recently had my 39th birthday. It was a difficult one for me with 40 being now right around the corner. I'm not so concerned with 40, it's that 50 is now only 11 years away. I've also let it get into my head. I got pretty wiped out at last weekends Hammerhead 100, and a tough work week in some very high temperatures have caused me to be overly run-down come the weekend. Of course I see it as "well, I'm getting older now. Don't have the energy I used to." I know it's bull, but the mind is a terrible thing.
With that, I've decided to take the remaining races on my calendar a little more seriously. I hired a new coach and I'm determined to follow the program and try to get some podium finishes at the two 12 hour events I have upcoming. I have plenty of time and hope to be able to make room in the day for the required workouts. I'll try to keep this blog current with how it's progressing. Hopefully this old body will respond.
