We went to Boyette today and rode 23 miles. We've had a lot of rain but this place sheds water well and conditions were just about as good as you could get. Just enough slip in the turns to make it fun. We averaged 10 miles an hour on the computer, which is a pretty brisk pace. I made it through all the technical sections with no problem. I was a little worried because I have been riding the road bike so much that I felt a bit rusty. The off road riding at North Port on tuesdays has paid off.
I still haven't heard from my friend's daughter on the outcome of the 20 mile challenge. I know it rained there this weekend. I hope that they got some riding in.

Unfortunately they didn't. The rain cut the ride out on Saturday and they spent the rest of the weekend with my youngest sister to say "goodbye". They were disappointed, too - both talking about trying to get their 20 miles in.
I'm hoping they'll be up to stopping by Blankets in the morning on our way to work. While I know we can't get the 20 in, they can at least get a few miles in and, if nothing else, get a chance to ride out there one last time.
