It's been oppressively hot lately. The riding however continues. I rode yesterday (tuesday). I have never sweat so much as we did last night. Until the sun goes completely down, the heat and humidity is unbelievable. I hope to ride the trainer tonight and then we have a road ride tomorrow. The race is a week from this saturday. I hope to see some improvement by then.
I also have been making a conscious effort to drink more water during the day at work. I go through a gallon of gatorade at work the drink water or juice at home. It has made a difference.

I've been horrible about drinking water this week . . . instead going back to making sweet tea . . . and it showed tonight on the ride! Have to start over again tomorrow . . .
Had a good ride with the girls, Lori and Cathy tonight. Lauren did an outstanding job . . . especially considering that her derailler was apparently falling off. She led for most of the ride, would've probably finished before all of us if her chain hadn't started skipping (see aforementioned derailler falling off). According to Cathy, Lauren embarassed several guys by constantly passing them on the climbs (the guys would pass them during stops for adjustments).
Maggie did amazingly well as well - especially for someone who is really just now getting into it and kind of being thrown in the fire. Also had her first wreck at Blankets - deciding to meet a tree head on. Fortunately nothing more than a few scrapes and bruises.
Lori did better than either of us expected considering she hasn't ridden since early December. Well enough that she point blank said "we're coming back the nights I'm off next week!!" Based on her attitude she'll be in prime shape for Dauset . . .
er, sorry I took over your blog . . .
